The Wait is Over for Bon Jovi

Ready to rock! The 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced on Wednesday, December 13. In addition, the late Sister Rosetta Tharpe will be honored with an Early Influence award. When asked about the band's inclusion Wednesday, lead singer Jon Bon Jovi said, "I really want to say it's about time".

The likes of Radiohead, Kate Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, MC5, LL Cool J and Judas Priest were overlooked by the Hall of Fame this year. The "Living on a Prayer" rockers - eligible since 2008, but only a nominee once before in 2011 - was clearly the fan favorite, dominating an online poll held by the Rock Hall.

The rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey were not the only big names who will be honored at the ceremony which will take place at Cleveland's Public Hall on April 14, 2018 as legendary singer Nina Simone will also be inducted.

Nigeria docked points, World Cup qualification unaffected
He, however, insisted that the incident will neither affect nor distract the federation's laid down plans for the World Cup. Pinnick said: "We accept the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to fine the NFF and award the match to Algeria".

Bon Jovi has remained active, but without guitarist Richie Sambora, who has not played with the band since 2013. All Inductees are ultimately represented in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, the nonprofit organization that tells the story of rock and roll's global impact via special exhibits, educational programs and its library and archives. Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first commercially available recording, which means The Moody Blues - who only made the ballot for the first time this year - have been eligible since 1989. Bon Jovi was the clear fan favorite, with a field-leading 1,162,146 votes.

When the acclaimed art-rock band received its first nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 5, Radiohead responded the logical way: by scheduling a show in Buenos Aires the same night as the induction ceremony.
