Anderson Cooper says he was hacked after tweet calling Trump 'pathetic loser'

Posted December 15, 2017

Trump tweeted about Republican candidate Roy Moore's defeat in the Alabama special election to fill Jeff Sessions' now-vacant senate seat, stating that "the deck was stacked against" the judge, who was accused of harassing or molesting teenage girls in the past.

Cooper's account responded to Trump's claim he was "right" that Moore wouldn't win, saying, "Oh Really?" You endorsed him you tool!

Cooper in his own tweet said he woke up to find out "someone gained access" to his account.

However, CNN Communications later tweeted that someone had illegally gained access to Cooper's account and posted the tweet.

Cooper also commented on the hack, telling followers he has "not sent a tweet in days or replied to any tweets". Smartphones are frequently locked with a passcode or fingerprint ID.

"Geolocation tools confirm that the tweet in question was not sent from Anderson Cooper's phone".

UT Vols to introduce Jeremy Pruitt as next head football coach
It was reported earlier today that Pruitt added his first staff member in Colorado State's Will Friend. Tennessee saw a coach almost get hired, then decided against it after fans protested the decision.

"We are looking into how this happened", he added.

And a hack is what CNN's PR attributed the tweet to later in the morning.

CNN put out a brief statement that it is working with Twitter to secure the account. His assistant inadvertently left his phone unlocked and unattended at the gym early this morning, and someone took the phone and sent the tweet.

While the tweet was deleted, screenshots are being reposted on social media.

While some felt the tweet didn't sound like something Cooper would say, others said his assistant probably thought he was tweeting from an anonymous or private account when the post went out.
