The 35-year old started his career with the Chicago Bears and then signed a three-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons where he played from 2014 to 2015.
Hester played eight seasons with the Bears, highlighted by leading the league in punt return yards and touchdowns (three) during his rookie campaign in 2006. Chicago was where he was known as one of the best return men of all time.
Every time he stepped between the lines, Miami fans knew the end zone was a possibility no matter the distance. Devin Hester, the all-purpose speedster who holds the National Football League record for kick return touchdowns with 20, has announced his retirement from the NFL. The Colts kicked away from him the rest of the game.
Devin Hester didn't stop to consider his Pro Football Hall of Fame credentials until after his final career game, a Seahawks playoff loss in January. So now that he cannot torch them for any more touchdowns, perhaps some of the Vikings' special teams coaches can catch an extra few minutes of sleep (well, maybe). No other player has more than 10. Because the scope of his greatness is largely limited to his special teams play, the body of work, although quite impressive, is not as well-rounded as other players who may also be up for possible induction.
Nigeria docked points, World Cup qualification unaffected
He, however, insisted that the incident will neither affect nor distract the federation's laid down plans for the World Cup. Pinnick said: "We accept the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee to fine the NFF and award the match to Algeria".

Geminids meteor shower set to peak Wednesday night
Just get aside from lights and stare up in any direction! It will peak around 2am, when the sky is darkest. It is reported by NASA on their Twitter page.
We can also compare Hester's career numbers with those of Brian Mitchell, considered the best kick returner of a previous generation.
"In the return game, the kind of production he had was very, very hard", coach John Fox said.
Mitchell (1990-2003): 4,999 punt return yards (1st all-time), 10.8 yards per punt return (t-29th), 9 punt-return TDs (3rd), 14,014 kickoff return yards (1st), 23.1 yards per kickoff return (t-164th), 4 kickoff-return TDs (t-19th), 23,330 all-purpose yards (2nd).
That's because Hester changed the way kick and punt returns were viewed.
