LiAngelo, LaMelo Ball turn pro with club team in Lithuania

Posted December 12, 2017

Ball brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo are professional basketball players after signing with a Lithuanian club Monday, but their reported pay doesn't match their lofty profiles.

Of the two brothers, LaMelo is considered the player with the most upside while LiAngelo was always viewed as an athlete who would need several years of college ball to be considered in the National Basketball Association.

The brothers are unlikely to see much action in the domestic league "but could be afforded an opportunity to develop" in Baltic League play, Givony reports.

LiAngelo and LaMelo were both pulled out of their respective schools by their father, LaVar Ball.

But while playing pro ball in Lithuania could prepare the Ball brothers for the physicality of the NBA, American athletes who skip college to play in Europe aren't always able to make a smooth transition when they return.

It will be interesting to see how the two brothers adapt to the different style of play in Lithuania and perform in the Baltic league.

LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball-with the help of their father LaVar, of course-are officially moving on. But his shot selection is questionable and has struggled to impact the game. He believes that all three of sons will eventually play for their hometown team, L.A. Lakers.

The team has no general manager and doesn't practice regularly due to the poor financial situation.

The coach's other son, Domantas, also played for the team for four years, but left this season to sign in the French fourth division.
