Arizona Cardinals to start Blaine Gabbert at QB

The vaunted Texans defense did allow Cardinals third-string QB Blaine Gabbert to throw three touchdowns but forced three turnovers from the Cardinals offense, including two Gabbert interceptions.

The Cardinals lost 31-21, giving him an 0-1 record as a starter for the Cardinals and dropping his all-time record as a starter to 9-32.

Arians said he trusted Peterson to get the first down and "felt really good about" calling a run play in that situation, instead of a quarterback sneak or punting. Drew Stanton, who started in the 22-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10, suffered a knee injury, but finished the game.

"It's very simple: I cost our team the game", Arians said at the onset of his postgame press conference. "As long as we're getting open, we've got to catch it".

There still is a chance for Arizona to make the postseason, especially when you factor in four of their remaining six games are at home, but they'll need to get back to winning ways when they host the Jaguars at the University of Phoenix Stadium next week to realistically stand a chance.

Adrian Peterson rushed 14 times for 26 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in the Cardinals' Week 11 loss to the Texans. Savage completed just 50 percent of his passes and threw two interceptions in the game. Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald showed his continued worth on the Cardinals offense by racking up nine receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown, but it wouldn't be enough as the Cardinals fell to 4-6. Stanton has been progressing during practice this week, but Blaine Gabbert has been taking first-team reps.

"We just turned too many guys loose up the middle", Arians said.

If you have been following the Arizona Cardinals, you know that this week's game with the Houston Texans should result in victory.
