Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore sexually assaulted a 16-year-old when he was an adult - locking her inside his vehicle and forcing her head onto his crotch, the now-grown woman claimed Monday.
Beverly Young Nelson said Moore groped her and tried to force her to perform oral sex when she was 16 and she worked at a restaurant that Moore frequented. One woman said Moore initiated sexual contact with her in 1979 when she was 14 years old and he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney.
A new report suggests that the Trump Administration might be looking at ways to appoint Attorney General Jeff Sessions to his old senate seat in order to quell the evolving controversy that surrounds Roy Moore. I tried fighting him off, while yelling at him to stop, but instead of stopping he began squeezing my neck attempting to force my head onto his crotch. "I think they have a political agenda, and I think they're running that agenda".
Nelson said that Moore eventually "gave up" and then warned her not to tell anyone.
Walker's office did not immediately respond Monday to an inquiry asking if his views on Moore had changed or whether he wanted to address the statements from Shilling and Taylor.
White House legislative aide Marc Short said Sunday, "I think there's a special place in hell for those who actually perpetrate these crimes".
OJ Simpson booted from a Vegas casino for drunken belligerence
The former actor was acquitted of the double-murder of his ex-girlfriend Nicole Brown and her pal Ron Goldman in 1995. But there are conflicting reports about whether Simpson, 70, was drunk at the time, which would be a parole violation.
IPhone X bug causes touch problems in cold weather
Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behaviour to regulate its temperature. An online discussion forum on Apple's website includes comments from people affected by the bug.
White House urges Moore to leave Senate race if sex allegations true
Moore himself has issued a fundraising appeal asking for emergency donations in a "spiritual battle". Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell added, "If these allegations are true, he must step aside".
"I tried to open my auto door to leave, but he reached over and he locked it so I could not get out". But Moore could well ignore it since he has routinely ridiculed McConnell's performance as the Senate Republican leader and rebuffed calls from other prominent Republicans to drop out of the race.
"I believe the women", McConnell, R-Ky., said Monday in response to a question at an appearance in Louisville, Kentucky. It said Moore is innocent and "has never had any sexual misconduct with anyone". "It's his responsibility to step forward and say more and do more when it comes to the situation in Alabama", Durbin, D-Ill., said on CNN's "State of the Union".
Alabama will hold a special election on December 12 to fill the Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
A Democratic win in Alabama would be a blow to Trump's agenda and shift the political outlook for next year's midterm elections, giving Democrats a shot at gaining the three seats they need to recapture control of the U.S. Senate.
Moore called allegations that he was involved with a minor child completely false and he threatened to sue over it.
But Moore has remained defiant.
