In a further attempt, that may be a success this time, Instagram has added a button that allows you to easily share your Instagram Story post to your Facebook Story at the same time. Facebook has been aggressively pushing Stories onto all of its platforms.

Initially, users could only share to friends or groups of friends. To rope in more numbers for their Stories, Instagram will now offer its members to post Stories directly to Facebook.

Critics have largely called it a failure, and user ship has been so low that in April the company began displaying grayed-out icons in the Stories section of the app to make it seem less empty. The new option would cut down the trouble of manually uploading Stories on each platform separately.

Critics are saying the same about the move to cross post Instagram Stories to Facebook.
