There will surely be a bunch of narrative with this new All-Star Game and the West is too stacked to do the old format anyways.

With an influx of superstar powers moving to the Western Conference this offseason, the move will likely bring parity to what might've been an otherwise lopsided game. "We're looking forward to putting on an entertaining show in LA".

The NBA All-Star game would be a laughing stock if anybody actually watched it.

Players who receive the most votes in their respective conferences will be selected as the team captains. The new rules mean it's still possible we could see Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James on the same All-Star team next year.

Depending on how the captains decide to select their teams, the two star players may never have to be teammates in an NBA All-Star Game again. Fans can begin voting for All-Stars on Christmas Day. Chris Paul, the president of the player's union, raved about the change.

The voting process will stay the same, with 12 players from each conference earning a chance to play in the game.

The NBA and NBA Players Association announced the changes in a Tuesday, Oct. 3 news release. The NBA is changing the format of its All-Star game, the league announced. Each All-Star Game coach will lead the team that includes the captain from the same conference.

Back-to-backs per team have been reduced for the third consecutive season to just 14.9 back-to-backs per team this season, and the league has eliminated scenarios in which teams play four games in five days.

Point of education for referees this season include continuation calls, especially perimeter jump shots in which screens are involved.

In recent years, the All-Star Game has lost its appeal to a lot of fans.
