On Saturday afternoon, a passerby on Highway 82 in Bullock County, near Midway and Eufaula, spotted Theris after she somehow found her way to the side of a road.

She was last seen in Midway, and is believed to have been with two men, Manley Davis and Randall Oswald, who robbed $40,000 worth of equipment from a hunting camp on July 17-18. "I just thank God that she's alive".

An Alabama woman missing for almost a month was found safe after surviving in the woods on berries and mushrooms, she said.

Lisa was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but was later released to her family's home in Louisville, Alabama.

Specialists say the sheer will to live kept Lisa Theris going.

The fortuitous sighting brought an end to a multi-county search for Theris who was reported missing on July 23.

Police are still disappearing the details of Theris' disappearance. She stayed, and I called 911 and told them I had found a girl on the road...

According to police, Ms Theris did not want to be involved in the crime so she ran off but became lost. "I don't think she could have made it much longer", Garner said. They have not been charged in connection with her disappearance, according to AL.com, an Alabama news outlet. "We want to make sure her health is good". By the time she was rescued this weekend, she had lost 50 pounds.

Manley Davis, 31, and Randall Oswald, 36 - the two men - were later found and arrested by police. "So when I got word she was found alive, my whole world flipped upside down again". "She went back and there was the young lady in the wooded area", Rogers said.

Her brother, Will has also paid tribute to his sister's resilience on Facebook with a picture of her recovering in hospital.

"She had been out lost in the woods", he said. "Her will to live is incredible", Bullock County Sheriff's Sergeant Faulkner said to WTVY.

Faulkner said Theris' survival has been a "relief" to the entire department. We didn't ask her too many questions. "There is not an inch of her that has not been affected".

Luckily, according to her brother, Will, she is able to make jokes and get through the pain.

The two men, Manley Davis, 31, and Randall Oswald, 36, were arrested almost two weeks after Lisa disappeared and were charged with stealing $40,000 (£31,100) worth of goods including four-wheel drive cars and chainsaws, according to Huffington Post. A few moments later, he made her wildest dreams come true.

Her sister, Elizabeth Theris, told the media that Lisa remains extremely weak and is emaciated. "We are very thankful for everyone's thoughts and prayers".
