A Warm/Muggy Friday... then a 50/50 Weekend

More showers and storms pop up through the afternoon.

Today's predicted high is several degrees lower than Topeka's average high temperature for August 11, which is 89 degrees. Upper 70s without much sun and a south breeze of 10-15 miles per hour.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance for scattered thunderstorms.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high in the low 80s. Low temperatures Thursday morning should be in the lower 70s. West wind around 5 miles per hour becoming calm in the evening.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. Overnight lows will be in the lower to mid-70s. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

It's still a few days out but by Thursday of next week temps look to return to normal under mostly sunny skies. We will have partly cloudy skies, which mean warmer temperatures in the afternoon. A few showers are possible Saturday morning but rain and storm chances will increase by midday and through the afternoon. South wind 3 to 7 miles per hour.

The chance for thunderstorms remains on Saturday, with more sunshine expected Sunday. There will still be scattered to isolated showers in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy - low around 71. Mostly cloudy with a low around 72.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. High: Low-mid 80s. With the approach of a cold front late in the day, we'll run the risk for another round of shower and even some thunderstorms late in the day.
