McMaster Stresses North Korea Threat, Says Military Strike On The Table

Despite Trump's public support for McMaster, it is far from clear that the national security adviser is on solid ground.

Mr Trump had recently pondered a different role for General McMaster.

In an interview with MSNBC's Hugh Hewitt that aired Saturday, McMaster said Trump has been "deeply briefed" on the strategy on North Korea.

Gen. H.R. McMaster listens as U.S. President Donald Trump makes the announcement at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Within days of the recertification, it was reported that Trump had authorized the establishment of a rival group within the White House, led by Bannon, that would seek a path out of the deal.

New Pak PM Soon; Nawaz Sharif May Pick Wife Over Brother
Shahbaz will likely seek election to the National Assembly from Nawaz Sharif's constituency, which is a PML-N stronghold. Pervez Musharraf overthrew Sharif in a bloodless coup and exiled him to Saudi Arabia.

Last Thursday, Derek Harvey, senior director for the Middle East, was kicked off the NSC after complaints directly from Secretary of Defense James Mattis, a McMaster ally. He then reportedly came to the astonishing conclusion that former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice did nothing wrong by unmasking Trump campaign officials during the transition - a belief firmly at odds with past statements by Trump. During a July 19 meeting in the White House Situation Room, Trump demanded that his top national security aides provide more information on what one official called "the end-state" in a country where the United States has spent 16 years fighting against the Taliban with no end in sight. Rice has been accused by the president, who has cited no evidence, of involvement in attempts to unmask Trump officials wiretapped by US intelligence agencies during last year's election. McMaster tried to fire Cohen-Watnick earlier this year but was stymied by Bannon and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who came to his defense. However, for those who have consecrated themselves to the priestly rites of Donald Trump's cult of personality, McMaster's staffing changes constitute nothing short of blasphemy.

It was revealed on Wednesday in news reports that Rich Higgins, who served as director for strategic planning at the NSC, was sacked July 21. "They're taking out people who were chosen to best implement the president's policy that he articulated during the campaign".

Nearly one month after Lake broke that story, McMaster appears to have sent a letter to Rice informing her that she could maintain her security clearance, according to the conservative news outlet Circa, which obtained a copy of the letter.

"He is a good man and very pro-Israel".

Following the departure from the Trump administration of White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, and Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, the betting game began. The White House did not respond to request for comment, but s enior West Wing officials told Circa that Trump did not know about the letter.
