Malayalam actress assault case: Actor Dileep's bail plea rejected

The court has sent him to judicial remand till 25th July. However, Dileep's advocate has submitted two mobile phones to the court.

Dileep's counsel advocate Ram Kumar said they would approach the Kerala High Court on Monday seeking bail. The court went with the prosecution which opposed bail pointing out an ongoing campaign in support of the actor on social media.

Earlier, police had also raided Dileep's wife and actress Kavya's Madhavan's online boutique Laksyah based on the letter apparently written by Suni addressing the leading Malayalam actor. He waved at the people before boarding the police van.

The police have intensified their search for Dileep's manager Appunni.

The court had accepted a request by the police and extended the actor's custody till Saturday 5 pm.

In his statement, Pulsar Suni has stated that Dileep received the mobile phone including the visuals of attack against the actress.

From the court, he was driven back to the Aluva Police Club where he has been housed for the past two days.

Police had taken the 48-year-old actor, arrested on July 10, to various places in Kochi, Thrissur and Thodupuzha to carry out their investigation.

After his arrest on the charge of conspiracy, Dileep has been expelled from various film forums, including the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), as the industry rallied behind the actress.
