No Morata talks yet, says Perez

Posted June 29, 2017

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told "El Primer Palo" that no negotiations have taken place with Manchester United about Alvaro Morata, although he suggested he is aware that the striker's representatives have been speaking with the Premier League club.

It's reported that Morata is keen to be a United player well before the club start pre-season training on July 8 but Madrid have been in no hurry to sell as they feel they could get a better deal later in the summer.

Check out how Morata's new wife Alice Campello caused a social media frenzy earlier this week.

"I have read that we have reached an agreement I do not know how many million times, but it isn't true".

Morata has made a decision to leave Real Madrid because he wants to boost his chances of firing his country to the 2018 World Cup, according to the Manchester Evening News.

We are suffering from the departure of key players in the forward positions over the last couple of years - none more so than the exit of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer.

But Perez, when asked about Rodriguez, belligerently insisted that, should United sign Rodriguez, it would be for more than €80m.

"We have to match the interests of the players with ours, but mostly those of Madrid".

"It is a pity if he leaves, but it has always enriched our football for players to go overseas and be able to play".

Though it would appear Morata is not vital to the Madrid XI on review of his appearance record last season - he started just 14 games - the Spain worldwide was their second-top scorer with 15 goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo, on 25. It will not be a problem for the Spanish team.
