Camden Council will evacuate 161 households from a tower block tonight amid fire safety concerns.

A petition was signed by more than 100,000 people urging the company to recall three million potentially risky tumble dryers.

Because the petition gained over 100,000 signatures, it was considered for debate by Parliament.

He added: "Yesterday the response of the council was impressive".

"The Minister has, in particular, raised concerns about reaching out to those consumers with an affected machine who have not yet signed up for a fix or replacement".

Refurbishment on the Chalcots estate in Camden was overseen by Rydon, the company involved in the refit of Grenfell Tower, according to the Rydon website.

The dryers subject to the Whirlpool fix programme were manufactured between April 2004 and September 2015 under the Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline brands.

In a statement on Friday evening Ms Gould said firefighters and council officials had inspected the estate on Friday.

Police said both the insulation and tiles used in cladding at the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block failed all post-fire safety tests.

A Hotpoint FF175BP model was found to have been the fridge-freezer at the centre of the tragedy and followed witness reports from June 14 that one resident claimed his appliance was responsible.

Authorities now acknowledge the risks posed by exterior cladding to thousands of people around the country who live in blocks like Grenfell Tower.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Three adult males and one adult female who were victims of the Grenfell Tower fire have been formally identified in agreement with the coroner, Dr Fiona Wilcox". They added that customers should not turn off their freezers at the moment as there is no specific reason to do so.

"We have not named the victims or issued further details on request of the families". We stand ready to fully support any national investigation into materials, building standards and safety regulations. "We are addressing this as a matter of utmost urgency". We will provide additional updates as our investigations progress. The company's fridge was manufactured through its subsidiary Indesit.

A recall of Hotpoint fridge-freezer model numbers FF175BP or FF175BG has been issued while further tests are carried out, while a company spokesman said: "Words can not express our sorrow at this awful tragedy".

These models were discontinued in 2009, several years before Whirlpool acquired Indesit.
