"With a heavy heart, Sharla and I join all Montanans today to mourn the loss of Deputy Mason Moore", Tester added. The body arrived in Billings in the afternoon, where firefighters raised a large American flag from a ladder truck.

A sheriff's deputy was killed early Tuesday in a shootout that prompted a pre-dawn pursuit that lasted 140 miles (225 kilometers) across southwestern Montana. According to Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, Highway 287 from I-20 South to US-2 is now closed for an investigation. He is survived by his wife and three children.

At this time, Highway 287 from I-90 to MT 2 is closed out of Three Forks as the investigation continues.

The suspects eventually stopped and the Butte officer and other officers engaged in a firefight.

"This is a tremendously sad day for all of us here in Broadwater County", Sheriff Wynn Meehan said in a statement.

The shooting occurred less than a mile from the Trooper David DeLaittre Memorial Park.

The deputy's patrol auto was found in a ditch and its dashboard camera video was used to identify the vehicle being pursued.

Broadwater County sheriff's deputy Mason Moore was shot and killed Tuesday morning near Three Forks. The SUV was driving on rims alone when it came to a stop east of Missoula. Officers found the deputy dead on the side of the road near Three Forks.

Scottish Conservatives launch Angus general election campaign
Both Labour and the Conservatives had five councillors elected, with the result for the Tories up four on five years ago. That would suggest that there was every good reason to think the SNP's share of the vote would also go up last Thursday.

Bavor did not elaborate on the new headset's technical specifications, but said that because it would be an all-in-one device. This lets Google and hardware makers customize the displays, optics, and sensors to be ideal for virtual reality, he said.

Daredevils Film Illegal Backflips on Golden Gate
The Golden Gate Bridge authorities were aware of the video earlier, but have not reported the incident until Tuesday. Locati said the bridge's security system was "not created to protect thrill-seekers from harming themselves".

The driver, Lloyd Barrus, 61, and the passenger are father and son, said Missoula County sheriff's spokeswoman Brenda Bassett. He was taken to the hospital where his condition was not available. His name hasn't been released. The deputy reviewed the dash camera video in the slain officer's vehicle and identified the SUV.

The SUV was later located in Butte-Silver Bow County near Anaconda, and a pursuit began that ended about 35 miles east of Missoula after the vehicle's tires were flattened by spike strips.

About three Butte officers were following the vehicle and one officer attempted to deploy stop sticks.

Gootkin says the passenger, 39-year-old Marshall Barrus, got out and shot at officers who returned fire. He was taken to the hospital.

The Broadwater County sheriff's office says 38-year-old Mason Moore had been a deputy for three years. The passenger has not be identified.

However, with the flow of traffic and two eighteen wheelers were in front of the suspect's vehicle, the stop sticks did not work.

Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin says a Broadwater County deputy was pursuing a vehicle on U.S. Highway 287 when dispatchers lost contact with him at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. Butte-Silver Bow officers continued to pursue the vehicle westbound on I-90 through Deer Lodge County and Powell County and into Granite County. He is believed to be the shooter's father.
