Manchester City have lost only one league game on their own territory all season, but have drawn seven times and as Leicester threw players forward in the closing minutes in search of an equaliser, they were in real danger of being pegged back yet again.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has admitted his players were confused on whether to attack or defend their lead as they held on to a 2-1 win against Leicester City on Saturday.

He will end his first season at City trophyless, though, and he is grateful the Premier League side are sticking by him regardless of their somewhat underwhelming results in 2016-17.

"When I saw the reaction from Willy [Caballero], I understood immediately [that] it was two touches", Guardiola said after the match.

"What we've got to do now is try to get something from these two away games".

"His impact here was unbelievable, he was one of the first players to come here, he has helped the club to where it is right now", Guardiola added.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he would have been sacked had he had his current season with previous clubs Barcelona or Bayern Munich.
