Fighting Irish announce ACC matchups through 2037

Laughter aside, here are the formalities: Miami, which traveled to South Bend this past season and is set to host Notre Dame on October 29 at Hard Rock Stadium, will play at Notre Dame in 2028 and 2031.

The Syracuse University football team announced plans Thursday to play Notre Dame four times between 2026 and 2037, including home games in 2029 and 2037.

The Irish and the conference agreed to a 12-year partnership in 2013 that would include five games against ACC teams each year between 2014-2025.

The two schools will also meet in 2037 in South Bend - 20 years from now for those who are mathematically challenged.

With this continuing to be the case, it is likely that the ACC will keep working with Notre Dame and the rest of the ACC to schedule football opponents well into the future.

Already solidified on the schedule are two trips to Notre Dame for Clemson in 2020 and 2022.

The 12-year slate includes two Labor Day night road contests - August 30, 2031, at Clemson and September 1, 2036, at Virginia Tech.

The two teams have met eight time before, with FSU football holding a 6-2 advantage all-time. The fact those matchups are set from 2026 through 2037, well, that garnered some chuckles from college football fans and reporters across social media.

About half the participants in the 2037 Notre Dame-Miami game are not now alive. During that period, Notre Dame will face Clemson, Florida State, Louisville and Miami five times each and all of other league opponents four times.
