Apart from the thrill of joining yet another prolific, highly visible franchise, there's another thrill to be found for Williams in this project: in a way, it's yet another tie to bind her with her on-screen sister, Sophie Turner. Drew was right on the money as Fox has indeed announced that Williams will be playing Wolfsbane and Taylor-Joy is Majick in an adaptation that looks to be hewing pretty closely to the Claremont/McLeod/Sienkiewicz source in terms of team line-up.

James McAvoy's Professor Charles Xavier is also expected to appear in the film, which makes sense since the New Mutants are traditionally students at Professor X's School for Gifted Youngsters.
Josh Boone will be at the helm as the director. Anya Taylor-Joy is known for her roles in The Witch and M. Night Shyamalan's Split, both of which show her unbelievable talents.
New Mutants will follow the wild adventures of the group of teens.

Taylor-Joy is in the midst of a rapid career climb after the double whammy of her breakout role in The Witch, which earned the actress a BAFTA nomination, and the surprise sensation that is M. With a release date set for April 13, 2018, we should be hearing quite a few New Mutants cast updates in the days to come so check back for updates as they become available.
