"Fast & Furious" spin-off in the works with Jason Statham, Charlize Theron

However, don't get excited just yet, as Variety was quick to note that "no script has been written" and "all three actors are far from committed to coming on board".

For those who enjoyed the contentious partnership between Hobbs and Shaw, there may be good news down the road. However, Statham, Johnson and Theron have not yet committed to any plans. Now that opening weekend for F8 is over and done with and all the receipts have been counted, CNN reports that its $532 million take is the biggest worldwide opening in the history of the movie business.

In an interview with Collider, producer Neal Moritz confirmed that Fast & Furious 10 is set to be the final movie in the Fast & Furious series. This is supposed to be the first of several planned Fast and Furious spin-off movies.

Universal Pictures wants to do a spinoff mainly due to the great chemistry The Rock and Jason Statham had with one another while filming The Fate of the Furious.

It's unclear if the spinoff has anything to do with the tensions between The Rock and Vin Diesel during "Fate of the Furious" filming. Morgan has been the screenwriter for the series ever since 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Supposedly this hasn't squashed the possibility for the film. He will next be seen in the Baywatch movie next month and the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in December.

Durant still questionable for Game 3
The Warriors own a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series, and can afford to be cautious with Durant. Barnes has been out since the regular season and Livingston didn't play in Game 2 after injuring his finger in Game 1.

"They had early screenings where Johnson and Statham popped so much on-screen together that they were looking at doing a spinoff", one insider said. In The Fate of the Furious, Shaw was reluctantly recruited to help save Dom from the clutches of the series' new villain, Cipher, a sinister hacker played by Charlize Theron.

One Twitter user has a suggestion.

That's not to say this is the end for the Fast and Furious franchise.
