Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber were all over the place in an 11-6 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park.

Scherzer (1-0) allowed two runs and four hits, striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings.

"I didn't realize that", he said. "It was really good".

Baez left the game with a left eye contusion after colliding with Heyward.

MILWAUKEE (AP) - After scuffling offensively over the first four games, the Chicago Cubs will return home to raise the World Series championship banner suddenly potent at the plate.

Baez left the field under his own power after a discussion with manager Joe Maddon but was clearly shaken up on the play.

"It looked like [the eye] was going to start swelling".

He said during postgame interviews that he's "fine" and that he wanted to stay in the game.

Freese and Cervelli went deep off reliever Josh Collmenter leading off the fifth inning. The sixth was really good. "For me, it's just being more determined out there".

"It's always about semantics, man", Maddon said. "They learn off their first at-bats". Which makes sense for anyone scoring 10 runs, but particularly when you need to score them by stringing hits together.

NOTES: After claiming INF/OF Nick Franklin off waivers from Tampa earlier in the week, Milwaukee officially added him to its active roster Friday.

He finished the season hitting.273/.314/.423 with 14 home runs and 59 RBIs, adding 12 steals.

Manny's three-run moonshot in the fifth inning brought the Orioles within one run before Seth Smith put them ahead in the seventh. Orioles: RHP Chris Tillman left for Florida to continue his rehabilitation program for his sore right shoulder.

Despite a big night offensively, the Milwaukee Brewers didn't have anything positive going on the mound on Saturday and that cost them a winnable game.

The Cubs said Baez was not in the concussion protocol. I couldn't see what hit me until I watched the video. "It was kind of purple today, but I'm good".

Heyward wasn't in the lineup, but was available.

When Anderson left the game, the there was a scare when Javy Baez and Jason Heyward collided in shallow center while attempting to chase down a popup.

He started in right field the first two games in Milwaukee and said he expects Maddon to keep moving him and Baez around. It was unclear whether Braun would be able to play in Sunday's series finale against the Cubs. Just enough that he needed to back off a little bit.

This despite starting every postseason game at second past year, earning national celebrity on that stage, then repeating his flashy success during the World Baseball Classic this spring.

"We'll have to regroup on that", Counsell said.

After winning last night's insane contest against the Cubs on a walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the 11th, tonight the Milwaukee Brewers will look to string together back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Milwaukee optioned LHP Brent Suter to Triple-A Colorado Springs following the game.

Vince Velasquez (0-1) struck out 10, but allowed four runs in four innings.

Counsell said it was similar to what Braun experienced a year ago, when he needed to take occasional days off, but wouldn't completely rule him out for the series finale.

Milwaukee will counter with Zach Davies, who'd like to bounce back after allowing six runs over 4 1/3 innings in his 2017 debut. Arrieta is 4-1 with a 2.56 ERA over his last five outings against Milwaukee.
