Sam Allardyce nearly signed Everton's Gerard Deulofeu for West Ham United

Deulofeu started his career at the Spanish side before sealing a move to Everton, where he initially starred before falling out of favour under Ronald Koeman this term.

The 23-year-old has breathed fresh life into his career at AC Milan and his performances for the Rossoneri also earned him a call up to the Spain squad for the upcoming global fixtures.

Despite reports that Barcelona could be interested in bringing him back to the club, Gerard Deulofeu has expressed his happiness with life at AC Milan.

Barcelona could welcome a couple of familiar faces back to Camp Nou this summer, with club director Robert Fernandez admitting to tracking Gerard Deulofeu and Hector Bellerin. And his displays for Milan earned him a surprise recall by Julen Lopetegui for the World Cup qualifying match at home against Israel and a friendly away to France. He could yet return to Everton or extend his loan move at the San Siro during a summer likely to be partly dominated by the future of the winger. Deulofeu told reporters, according to Goal.com. "Right now I'm only thinking about Milan and the Spanish national team".

I think the selloff was due to concerns about Trump's policies not having the magical effects the markets are counting on. Investors have grown concerned about elevated valuations, with stocks hovering near record highs for most of the month.

"In football, I have learned to forget the past, think about the present and the future will come as it may - thinking about it would be a mistake".

The Everton midfielder, eventually signed from the Spanish giants for £4.2million after a successful loan spell at Goodison in 2013-14, is now on loan at AC Milan. It is a great club.

"It is nice to hear things said about you but if I was to stay at Milan then I'd be happy".

"They have shown great trust in me and I'm very thankful to Milan but I'm not sure what will happen in the future".
