With Nougat receiving a warm welcome from vendors and consumers alike, Google have already begun to gear up on the next major iteration of their Android mobile OS. Since then it has only reached around three per cent of all Android phones.

Google starts rolling out Android 7.1.2 second beta to various Nexus and Pixel phones, namely, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C. The 7.1.2 update has started seeding to eligible devices that have signed up to Android Beta Program. Unfortunately, there is only one new stock wallpaper in this version of Android O, but it's still a cool one. For everyone else, Google says it'll have a lot more details on Android at I/O in May - we'll probably see the full beta release right around the, as well.

Assuming Google follows Nougat's rollout, Android O will likely get a public beta version at its annual I/O dev conference in May, with a public rollout sometime in the fall. We will get to know more about Android O in the upcoming Google I/O which is scheduled for May. This capability will change the way an application stores the data that is to be used repetitively. Push notifications come in many forms: Facebook messages, emails, FitBit reminders are just some of them. This allows for more granular control over an app's notifications, as users can tweak specific notification types from an app rather than all of the app's notifications. It is rumored to adopt a new notification system, Andromeda. An example screenshot Google provided showed a news app with 10 different "categories" of notifications, so you can see all the tech news notifications in one shot. This means you won't have to stop watching Netflix to send an important email.

While listening to music through wired headphones on Android devices are fairly decent, the same can not be said about audio through wireless headphones.

This Operating System is now available for download but more features are on its way and lots of work to be done in terms of stabilization and performance, as it is still in the Starting stage. In addition to a new AAudio API for low-latency sound, Google has worked closely with its hardware partners, specifically Sony, to improve wireless audio handling via the Bluetooth LDAC codec.

Across the Android ecosystem, there are a variety of device manufacturers.
