Game of Thrones' Eighth Season Will Be Just Six Episodes Long

Posted March 24, 2017

Prepare for screams across the entire realm, because HBO's final season of Game of Thrones will, officially, consist of just six episodes. And will Benioff and Weiss be on board for another fight for the Iron Throne?

Game of Thrones fans across the world have been disappointed that season 7 of the series will not come in April like usual, but on July 16.

Speaking at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, Game of Thrones's producers David Benioff and DB Weiss announced that the Shape of You singer will be dividing the warring dynasties of Westeros. Season 7 is also shorter than normal, with only seven episodes, as confirmed past year. It turned out to be a 73-hour movie, but it keeps on fairly the same of having the beginning, middle and now we're coming to the end. This is the year they finally made it happen.

They've split it up so that the other show writers, Dave Hill and Bryan Cogman, will take episodes one and two respectively of the season. "Because we realized it was the last time we'd be doing this for this show".

Rebels launch fresh assault on Damascus
Syria's conflict erupted in March 2011 with protests against Assad's rule but has evolved over the years into a complex civil war. The clashes killed at least 26 members of the regime forces and 21 rebels and jihadists, Abdel Rahman said.

"I think HBO might well do [a spinoff] and I'm looking forward to watching it", Benioff said, per Deadline.

"Her hair is still blond, so she's dead", Williams said, providing one of the panel's awkward moments.

Although series seven will see the return of some of our favourite characters - Jon Snow, Sansa and Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen - it doesn't mean they're safe.
