A couple of Florida jet skiers on spring break owe a debt of gratitude to a Port Canaveral harbor pilot and a Brevard County Sheriff Marine Unit deputy for averting a near-tragic situation late Saturday afternoon.

Capt. Doug Brown was navigating the Carnival Magic cruise ship out of the port when he noticed the jet skiers nearby, according to the statement.

Marine United Deputy Taner Primmer saved two young women from a awful demise on Saturday, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Allison Garrett, 20, and Skylar Penpasuglia, 19, were riding the jet ski when one of them fell off.

Thankfully, they were spotted by Primmer, who bravely steered his boat into the path of the ship and quickly pulled the two girls onboard.

"Great job to Capt".

Investigators said the ship was in worldwide waters and heading back to Port Canaveral when Ray walked into the cabin he shared with the woman and got involved in an argument.

Garrett took to Facebook following the incident to thank Primmer for his actions. "We were extremely lucky to have him there to help us".

"I'd just like to tell him thank you again for helping us in that bad situation", Skylar Pentasuglia wrote.
