Meet Gru's Twin Brother in the New Despicable Me 3 Trailer!

It is widely accepted that the worst thing to happen to modern cinema was the Minions, but Despicable Me fans have found something even more annoying in the newest trailer for Despicable Me 3: inaccuracies in the cinematic universe. This third one would be a good way to say goodbye to Gru and his family. And as its debut trailer reveals, there will be a new member of the family.

"Despicable Me 3" shows itself to still contain the kind of violent animated slapstick humor that Looney Tunes are famous for. South Park creative Trey Parker also joins the principal cast, starring as lead antagonist, Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who's grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the 1980s.

The new installment will feature the talents of Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig, and Tony and Grammy Award victor Trey Parker. You can see just what Drew is like in the new Despicable Me 3 trailer after the jump.

Meanwhile, Despicable Me 3 also features the return of Kristen Wiig as Gru's newfound love interest Lucy, as well as his adorable little girls Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), Agnes (Nev Scharrel).

A new trailer introduces Dru (also voiced by Steve Carell), Gru's long-lost twin brother who lives a wealthy and fabulous life on his own private island. If you don't count the spinoff, "Despicable Me 2" made $368M domestically, and $602M worldwide. The prequel film Minions was released in 2015 and earned $1.159 billion at the global box office.

The film is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2017.
