The next chapter in the book that is the post-Darian Durant quarterback story has taken shape, as the Saskatchewan Roughriders officially announced the signing of free agent quarterback Vince Young on Thursday. He went in the first round, third overall, of the 2006 NFL draft to the Tennessee Titans and was the league's top rookie and a Pro Bowl selection that season.
However it's unclear what type of athlete the Roughriders will be getting in the 33-year-old Young. The good times kept rolling for Young in his rookie season, when he accounted for more than 2,500 combined yards and almost 20 touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl and Rookie of the Year.
Young last played in an National Football League season with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, which he dubbed a Dream Team after the Eagles signed Nnamdi Asomugha in free agency.
Young's agent, Leigh Steinberg, tweeted Wednesday he was en route to Regina to finalize a deal between his client and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Postmedia's Scott Mitchell said he heard Young is asking for backup quarterback money in line with what he is making working at the University of Texas.
Now, though, he's looking to make a return - north of the border.

He went to the Pro Bowl again following the 2009 season.
