ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom's Launch In The US Delayed Until Q2

Posted February 26, 2017

Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus has launched a new entry-level Android smartphone targeted at the younger generation. As the phone's name might imply, the ZenFone Live is designed for taking pictures and live-streaming, though of course, it will do other things. The only difference this app has over other beauty tools is that it does the beautification while the user live-streams, making it a ideal phone for vloggers. The smartphone also comes with dual MEMS microphones, which the company says helps remove background noise and enhance voice pickup. By "beautify", Asus means making the subjects' skin smoother and removing all their blemishes as well, just like what other mainstream beautifying apps can do. In response to a customer's query on Facebook, Asus North America said that the ZenFone 3 Zoom has been delayed until Q2 [2017], as pointed out in a report by PhoneArena. As it turns out, ASUS plans to ship a somewhat different smartphone to the consumers in the U.S., as it will come with more powerful specs.

The ZenFone 3 Go is expected to come along with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM as well as a 16GB of internal storage. There is a provision for expansion of storage via microSD card (up to 128 GB).

The Asus Zenfone Live is powered by a 2,650mAh battery.

The Zenfone Live features a 13MP PixelMaster camera with f/2.0 aperture and a five-prism lens at the rear and a 5MP camera at the front. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB 2.0. The smartphone bears 5megapixel front-facing camera along with soft LED flash, 82-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and 1.4um pixel size. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this phone, while ASUS ZenUI 3.0 is placed on top of it. With that said, the main highlight of this camera isn't the hardware. According to Gadgets 360, the leaked image of the handset appears to have a metal body in a variety of colors, such as black, white, pink and gold.
