According to Google, the animal is not only the world's only scaly mammal, it is also the world's most trafficked mammal.

If you've been wondering what are those two creatures featured on the Google page but have not had the time to click on it, well you're actually standing in the way of an epic long-distance love story between two pangolins. "We hope that by playing this game, people learn a bit more about these wonderful creatures and join efforts to save them and other endangered species", Helene Leroux, a Google Doodler and the lead artist for the Valentine's Day doodle game, told Refinery29 in an email.

Google is getting into the festive mode and it is celebrating Valentine's day by raising awareness about the plight of pangolins.

The doodle features a cute interactive video game that took roughly one year to develop and it's among the most in-depth Google Doodles launched so far.
